About Bethesda

Bethesda Children’s Home’s Mission

Bethesda is ministry that provides needed hope and healing to children and their families. Bethesda provides mental health and behavioral services to more than 500 children and youth every day at facilities in Meadville and Erie Pennsylvania. Bethesda’s clients come primarily from Western Pennsylvania, however we contracts and affiliation agreements with various organizations throughout the Commonwealth.

Bethesda was originally established as an orphanage in Meadville Pennsylvania in 1919, but now holds a regional presence in Northwestern PA.

The peaceful rural environment of Bethesda’s main campus helps to optimize the success of the youth that come to us for treatment. Bethesda’s Residential Clients are from many communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Residents are involved in a variety of activities, both indoor and outdoor, which are specifically designed to help facilitate team building, self confidence, conflict management and resolution, just to name a few.
