Bethesda Children’s Home will be conducting open interviews on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 9am – 3pm. All candidates interested in open positions at Bethesda will have an opportunity to complete an application and be interviewed, during this one day only open interview. Bethesda Children’s Home is seeking candidates for full and part time Child Care Counselors for 2nd and 3rd shift positions working with at-risk adolescent. Child Care Counselors guide clients through daily routines, unit responsibilities, educational requirements, and provide recreational activities while monitoring behavior and holding clients accountable. Child Care Counselors must be assertive, consistent, and professional. Candidates for this position must have the physical ability to perform interventions utilizing Safe Crisis Management techniques.
Bethesda is also looking for part-time Transitional Living Counselors who will teach life skills to clients, helping them to make the transition to living independently.
A Bachelor’s Degree and related experience preferred for these positions however we will consider training the right candidates. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, possess the ability to obtain favorable Child Abuse, Act 34, FBI and Driver Clearances, and successfully complete a drug test and physical. The Right Start for Young Mothers Program was established to help young mothers become successful as parents and successful in life. Designed to provide young mothers, and soon to be young mothers, with a structured caring environment in which to develop the skills to become self sufficient for life.

The Right Start for Young Mothers Program provides a structured and therapeutic environment where young mothers, or mothers-to-be, receive support, guidance, medical care, and the skills to be self sufficient for life.
The goals of the program are to develop healthy parenting skills through education and mentoring, eliminate inappropriate behaviors by learning and
incorporating appropriate coping mechanisms, gain knowledge of
pregnancy cycle and normal child development,pursue educational and/or
vocational goals, successfully reintegrate into home community, acquire and implement soft and hard life skills, develop insight to the areas of their life that contribute to reduced functional capacity for themselves and/or their child.
